I forget sometimes how frail humans can be. Especially the older ones that have been around as long as you can remember, and have sort of become “facts” of your life instead of people in them.
This past week my Granny had to go to the hospital due to intense back pain. Granny is a trooper, and pain tolerance of insanity. If she says it hurts, it must REALLY hurt. Anyway, once she was there, it came to light that she needed back surgery. She’s 85. I went to see her a couple of times. Looking at her in the hospital bed, seeming so small and old was scary. And a sudden reminder that she isn’t actually going to be around for ever.
Watching God orchestrate her stay and her surgery has been amazing. He is so good. A family friend was on duty at the hospital she is at, and found my mom a cot to sleep on so she would be able to stay with Granny. The nurses assigned to her have been fantastic, and a few times Christian, and prayed with them. Her team for the operation worked on a friend of hers, and are experts in the field. Her surgery was scheduled for this evening, and she was able to begin early afternoon instead. So many specific prayer requests have been answered. God is God, and He is GOOD.
She is still in the operation room as far as I know.
